LEEKA Architecture was commissioned by Carl’s Jr. Franchisee Dan Gjurgevich to develop a Carl’s Jr. Restaurant at the Clackamas Town Center. Scope of work included modifying a typical prototype restaurant to work in a mall food court environment. Additionally the restaurant design also needed to comply with Mall design standards.

Mr. Neil Lee was in charge of the project and performed all aspects of design work, documentation, management of engineering consultants, and interfacing with the franchisee and mall staff.

One challenge during design was developing a location for the grease interceptor. The restaurant space was located on an upper floor with tenant spaces below. The Mall did not have a shared gravity grease interceptor for the mall so LEEKA Architecture selected a surface mounted hydro grease interceptor in an accessible space in the back of the restaurant meeting all code requirements.
